The company « PT Pertamina » wants to increase its production by 10% in Algeria

The state-owned oil company « PT Pertamina » has unveiled a plan for growth in Algeria, forecasting a 10% increase in oil and gas production before the end of 2020.

The current production of oil is 20,000 barrels a day and is expected to reach between 22,000 and 23,000 barrels a day, eventually.

The information was given by its managing director, Denie S. Tampubolon, in a press release, reported by news agencies.

The manager explained that this optimism is part of the upcoming launch of a 20-well drilling program in several fields that have not yet been mentioned.

This requires new investment and the creation of new jobs.

Of the 20,000 barrels produced in Algeria each day, Pertamina exports 18,000 barrels to Indonesia.

As a reminder, the head of public relations of this company, Mehdi Makri had told the APS in March in Oran that PT Pertamina « aspires to sign agreements with the Sonatrach group in oil drilling mainly in Algerian territorial waters .

On the sidelines of the 9th edition of the international exhibition on the oil and gas industry in North Africa (NAPEC 2019), the same official had indicated that this company established in Algeria since 2014 operates under the 51/49 rule at the deposit of « Menzel Ledjmet » of Ouargla.

Discussions are underway with Sonatrach to expand the Indonesian company’s business with the signing of oil drilling agreements in the South, he added.
